Believe and Let Others Believe

Believe what you want to believe, and let others believe what they want to believe

Across the centuries, the figure of Jesus has stood at the heart of both Christianity and Islam — yet also as a dividing line. Christians confess Him as God incarnate, while Muslims honor Him as a great prophet. These are two profoundly different understandings, each rooted in sacred traditions, each shaped by centuries of faith and reflection.

But difference need not lead to hostility.

Disagreement is not the same as enmity.

We live in an age where human beings should have matured enough to recognize a simple truth: belief is personal. What I believe about Jesus is a matter of my own conscience, just as what you believe about Him is a matter of yours.

If you are a Christian and you believe Jesus is God — hold that belief with reverence and joy.

If you are a Muslim and you believe Jesus was a prophet — hold that belief with integrity and devotion.

There is no need to convert, condemn, or prove the other wrong. The truth does not need shouting matches or wars to defend it. If it is truth, it will stand on its own.

Real freedom of religion means the freedom to believe — and the freedom to let others believe differently.

The moment you demand that others must accept your version of truth, you step away from the very spirit of faith and enter the realm of domination.

Dear Muslims, let Christians hold their belief about Jesus without interference.

Dear Christians, let Muslims hold their belief without judgment.

No one owns Jesus. He belongs to neither religion nor tradition. He belongs to the truth itself, and truth is not threatened by sincere differences of belief.

Let us rise above the old quarrels that have scarred human history.

Let us stop trying to prove each other wrong, and instead learn to coexist in respect and humility.

If we can do that, then — perhaps for the first time — we will truly begin to follow the spirit of Jesus Himself, who taught love, compassion, and peace.
